THERAPIST | ASW #125930

Hi I am Lazarus,

As a therapist born and raised in NYC and a graduate of Columbia University School of Social Work, I am deeply committed to creating a comforting, affirming space where you can truly be yourself. My approach centers on self-compassion, helping you meet your challenges with kindness rather than judgment—a practice that is especially healing for those navigating trauma, burnout, or the pressures of high-achieving environments. As a Black, queer therapist, I am especially passionate about supporting BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ clients—those whose stories and identities are often overlooked or misunderstood. I believe everyone deserves a place where they feel seen, heard, and celebrated, and I strive to offer that to each person who walks through my door.

Before becoming a therapist, I built a career as a chef, which taught me the value of creativity, resilience, and connection—qualities I now bring to my therapeutic work. My background also gives me a unique understanding of the entertainment industry and the systemic challenges that creative professionals and marginalized communities often face. I specialize in working with trauma, PTSD & C-PTSD, identity issues, creativity blocks, sexual and religious abuse, family and relationship issues, institutional harm, anxiety, burnout, career changes, depression, self-esteem, LGBTQIA2S+ related issues, and boundaries. I know what it feels like to be stuck and to long for change, and together, we’ll use creative tools and compassionate conversation to help you move forward, rediscover your strengths, and build a life that feels authentic and joyful. In my free time, you’ll find me creating music, doing yoga, or exploring Los Angeles by bike or on foot—activities that keep me grounded and inspired, and that I love to share with clients as ways to nurture themselves, too.
