ZACH HAMMERS, LPCC
THERAPIST | LPCC #17230
Hi, I'm Zach.
Whether you’re new to therapy or just looking for a change of pace, counseling can be scary, but important in developing the fulfilling life you deserve. By coming to this page, you’re already taking your first steps towards a better tomorrow and to that I say congratulations!
As a counselor I have worked in the mental health field for over six years and have had the privilege of serving a variety of populations including those with substance use, eating disorders, and chronic illness. I am passionate about creating a safe and judgement free environment, where the strengths of the client are focused on. I believe that the therapy should match the needs of the client, and that it’s crucial to meet the client where they’re at in life, while also identifying where they want to be. I utilize a variety of modalities including, motivational interviewing, trauma-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness based therapeutic methods.
My educational background includes a B.A in Psychology, obtained from the University of California, Irvine as well as two M.A.’s in Forensic Psychology, and Forensic Mental Health Counseling ,with an advanced certificate in Victim Studies from CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.
