Hello I am Carlos,
I believe everyone could benefit from therapy in some way and it all depends on what your goal is. I take the time to find where you’re at in your journey and where you would like to be. There is not a one fit all answer for our lives and that means that each of my clients will have different sessions and experiences tailored to their needs. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to best fit what you need. As many of us already know, the exact approach is not what facilitates the change; the trust we have in this therapist/client relationship is the biggestmarker of success. I am willing and happy to take this journey with you; some of you will run to the finish line and some of you will crawl but there is no rush. We all heal in our own time.
I started my career working with sex trafficked youth in a shelter. It was there that I wanted to learn and develop my skills to be of service to these children. I went back to school and over the years have grown my specialties; Addiction, Trauma, Grief, Domestic Violence and Parenting. These specialties sound like alot but the surprising factor is that they all feed into one another. What we each have to realize when it comes to healing is that we are not fixing one thing. More than likely we are working on a complex collection of symptoms feeding into one another and burning us out.
The reality of this journey is that it will be difficult. I like to tell every client I have ever had; there are days where you will love me and there are days where you won’t. Healing is meant to be uncomfortable and that is okay. I am here to help, support and cheer you on. “The only journey is the one within.”
